Navigating the Program

Many of our resources include slideshows. Most of these are PowerPoint files, and nearly all of them are Google Slides compatible. To use them in Google Slides:
1. Upload the PowerPoint file into your Google Drive
2. Open it! It will open it within your Drive, no Microsoft PowerPoint needed
Some resources also include actual Google Slides – this is usually when the slideshow has interactive pieces to be used asynchronously by students. In those resources, the download includes at least one PDF. The link to access the Google Slides™ part of the resource will be on the 2nd or 3rd page of this PDF. It will be in blue text or might be a picture of a computer for you to click.
A lot of the resources have multiple pieces and are combined in a zip folder. Your first step after you download it is to unzip it and extract the files. Sometimes, you can simply double click a zipped folder to open it up and see what is inside. Then you can drag and drop the files wherever you want them to live on your computer. If that doesn’t work, try right clicking the folder and selecting “extract all.”
Another issue with opening a file or folder would be if you’re trying to do so on your phone or tablet. These resources are meant to be used on computers, so we recommend downloading and opening them from there.
The last thing that could be an issue is if your computer is trying to use the wrong program to open a file. Use right click –> open with and then select the correct program (i.e. your PDF reader, like Adobe, for PDFs).
Usually when this happens, it is because it is a large file and your internet connection isn’t strong enough/fast enough. We recommend trying again when you have a better connection. You might also try downloading from another browser, and/or closing out other programs (or tabs!) using your bandwidth.
Are you submitting the resource to a printing company and asking for only certain pages to be printed? You might need to separate the page(s) yourself first. Open the file, go to print, type in the page(s) you want, and then in the dropdown where you pick a printer. Select “Print to PDF” and then click Print. This will create a new document with just the pages you want.
You can also upload (or submit in person) this printing rights form. Sometimes printing companies won’t let you print a password protected or copyrighted document without proof of purchase or printing rights.
If you are trying to print a PowerPoint slide and it seems to be missing graphics, that is likely because the printer is reading things on the slide as Photos, which it won’t always print depending on settings. Either:
1. Set the print settings to Color (even if what you’re printing is Black and White) OR
2. Save the slide as a PDF or an image, and then print that.

Pause Your Monthly Membership
If you need to take a short break from Your Counseling Compass, you can request a temporary membership pause.
A pause is a good option if:
- you’re on an extended school break
- you’re dealing with temporary financial hardship
- you want to take a break without losing your current price point
Here’s what happens when you pause:
- Your recurring payments stop for the length of your pause.
- Your access to Your Counseling Compass and all resources inside is paused during that time.
- When your pause ends, your membership automatically resumes at your current price point.
To request a pause, complete this form.
Cancel Your Membership
If you’d like to cancel instead, you can do so at any time inside your Kajabi account. Canceling stops future renewals, and you’ll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
If you decide to rejoin in the future, you will join at the current membership price point (which may be higher than what you pay today).
To cancel your membership, please follow the steps below:
- First, click the circle icon in the upper right hand corner of any hub page, and select “Settings.”
